01Who we are and what this covers

NiraMind LLC is located at 178 Gelston Ave FL 1, Brooklyn, NY 11209, United States, and is responsible for the information described here.

This policy applies to our websites and apps (together, the “Services”):

• niramind.com, our company website;
• Compass: compass.niramind.com and the Compass app for iOS and Android, for planning Ventures with others;
• VBW (Virtual Business World): vbw.niramind.com and the VBW app for iOS and Android, our invitation-only business and work platform;
• Atlas: atlas.niramind.com and the Atlas app for iOS and Android (travel films and guides); Tech: tech.niramind.com and the Tech app for iOS and Android (technology reviews and news), and work.niramind.com and study.niramind.com;
• Ghazal: ghazal.niramind.com and the Ghazal app for iOS and Android, a portfolio we build and host for a client (see section 05 about its contact form); and
• the NiraMind app for iOS and Android.

This one privacy policy covers all of them — every NiraMind website and app, on the web, iOS and Android — and is always at niramind.com/privacy.

Websites we link to, including YouTube, are covered by their own policies.

02Information we collect

We collect only what the Services need to work. Most of it you give us directly.

Accounts

• Compass: your first, middle (if you give one) and last name, email address, country and password.
• NiraMind account (used to sign in to VBW): your name, email address and password.
• We never store passwords as you typed them; we keep only a one-way cryptographic hash.
• Sign-in sessions: a random token that keeps you signed in, held in a secure cookie on the web or in your device’s protected storage (the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore) in the apps.

Profile and preferences

• Your profile picture, if you upload one, and display preferences such as your theme. In VBW, also the headline and bio you add, and the time zone you choose, which is stored with your profile and deleted with your account.

What you plan in Compass

• Ventures: titles, dates, notes and icons, and each Venture’s locations: the place names you choose, with their Google Maps place identifiers, links and coordinates.
• Invitations and RSVPs: the email addresses of people you invite, and each person’s answer and any note they add.
• Suggestions and votes: places to explore or stay that people suggest for a Venture, and their votes.
• Personal events: events you add to your own calendar, with their titles, notes, icons, dates, times and repeat schedules. They are visible only to you.
• Notifications about the Ventures you’re part of.

What you do in VBW

• Businesses you run or belong to: their name, address, phone number and time zone, and your role in them.
• Hiring: job postings, and the applications you send, with your résumé and cover note.
• Work records: employment details (title, schedule, start and end dates) and attendance (clock-in and clock-out times).
• Sessions and chat: service sessions between workers and customers, the messages exchanged in them and their attachments. VBW chat messages, and the pictures and files shared in them, are kept for up to 7 days after they are sent and are then deleted automatically (live conversations are also held for up to 24 hours in our real-time service).
• Files you upload, with their names, types and sizes.

Messages you send us

• When you use a contact form on one of our sites or in the NiraMind or Ghazal app for iOS or Android, or email us, we receive your name, email address and your message.

Technical information

• Your IP address, browser or app version, the requests you make and their times, recorded in our servers’ logs to run, secure and troubleshoot the Services.
• In the Compass, NiraMind and Ghazal apps, a short-lived integrity token from Firebase App Check (using Apple App Attest or Google Play Integrity) that shows a request comes from a genuine copy of our app. It doesn’t identify you.

03What we don’t collect

• Your device’s precise or approximate location. The only places we store are the ones you enter, such as a Venture’s locations or a business address.
• Your contacts, or your photos, microphone or camera, beyond files you choose to upload.
• Advertising identifiers. We use no advertising, analytics or tracking software in the Services.

04How we use information

We use information only to provide and protect the Services:

• Core functionality: showing your calendar, Ventures and events; showing locations, maps and weather; generating ideas and Venture reports (PDFs made on our own servers) when you ask; running VBW’s businesses, hiring, schedules, attendance, sessions and chat; and showing Atlas and Tech content.
• Authentication: signing you in and keeping you signed in securely across our websites and apps.
• Managing group Ventures: sending invitations, collecting RSVPs, sharing suggestions and votes, and sending the account emails you need, such as password resets and deletion confirmations.
• Safety and security: rate limits, detecting unusual or abusive activity, locking accounts that show it, and investigating problems.
• Support: answering your messages.

We don’t sell your personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or use it to build advertising profiles.

05How information is shared

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only in these situations.

With the people you work or plan with

• Compass: the people on a Venture can see your name, profile picture, email address, your answer and note, and the suggestions and votes you add. Your personal events are never shared.
• VBW: your profile is visible to the businesses you belong to; your applications to the business you apply to; your work records to your employer; and your messages and attachments to the people in that session.

With the owner of ghazal.niramind.com

Messages sent through the contact form on ghazal.niramind.com or in the Ghazal app are delivered directly to the site’s owner, who answers them and handles them under their own practices.

With service providers

A small number of companies process data on our behalf, or provide features you choose to use, only as needed for that purpose:

Google’s handling of data, including YouTube’s, is also covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

For legal reasons

We may disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights, property or safety of NiraMind, our users or the public, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to protect your information.

06Cookies and device storage

We use only essential cookies, which keep you signed in: one on compass.niramind.com for Compass, and one for your NiraMind account (used by VBW), which is valid across niramind.com addresses. They are marked secure and HTTP-only, so scripts and other websites can’t read them. Our other sites set no cookies. We use no advertising or analytics cookies, so there is nothing to opt out of.

The Compass and VBW apps, and the Ghazal app’s admin panel, keep your session token in the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore and remove it when you sign out.

07Data security

We protect information with safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity, including:

• Encryption in transit: every connection to the Services uses HTTPS.
• Google Cloud Platform infrastructure, with data encrypted at rest and our database reachable only on a private network.
• Google Cloud Armor at the edge, with rate limits that slow down password guessing and abuse.
• Firebase App Check and server-side checks, so our API accepts requests only from NiraMind’s own websites and apps.
• Isolated database schemas: each of our services can reach only its own data.
• Hashed passwords, and access to our systems restricted to the people who run them.

No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong password that you don’t use anywhere else, and tell us at support@niramind.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

08How long we keep information

• Account, Venture, event and VBW data: for as long as your account exists, until you or the business you belong to delete it, except VBW chat (below).
• VBW chat messages and the pictures and files shared in them: up to 7 days after they are sent, then deleted automatically (up to 24 hours in our real-time service for live conversations).
• Server logs: up to 30 days.
• Unused idea drafts on Compass’s New Venture page: two days.
• Messages to us: as long as needed to answer them and keep a record of the conversation.
• Backups: copies expire on their regular schedule after the original is deleted.

09Deleting your account

Compass

• In the Compass app for iOS or Android: open the profile menu, choose Delete my account (Delete account on Android) and confirm with your password.
• On the web: sign in at compass.niramind.com and choose Delete my account in the profile menu. This works for accounts created in the apps too.
• By email: write to support@niramind.com from the address on your account. We’ll confirm the request comes from you before acting on it.

You’re signed out at once. Our automated deletion process then runs overnight: it deletes your name, email address, password, profile picture, sessions, votes and personal events, and emails you to confirm. Ventures you hosted and places you suggested remain for the other people on them, credited to “A former member” instead of your name.

VBW and your NiraMind account

• In the VBW app for iOS or Android: open your profile (your picture at the top right), choose Delete account and confirm with your password.
• On the web: sign in at vbw.niramind.com, open your profile the same way and choose Delete account (the steps are also at vbw.niramind.com/delete-account).
• By email: write to support@niramind.com from the address on your account. We’ll confirm the request comes from you before acting on it.

You’re signed out everywhere at once. Our automated deletion process then runs overnight: it deletes your NiraMind account (name, email address, password, sessions), your VBW profile and picture, the files you uploaded (such as résumés and chat attachments), your job applications and the businesses you own on your own, and emails you to confirm. Records others still use, such as past attendance kept by an employer or messages others received, remain without your name, credited to “A former member”.

In every case, copies in logs and backups expire on their normal schedule.

10Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• know what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
• correct information that is inaccurate;
• delete your information;
• object to or restrict certain processing; and
• not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

You can view and correct most of your information in the Services themselves. For anything else, email support@niramind.com. We’ll verify your identity and respond within the time the law allows.

11Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. A Compass account requires you to be at least 13; a VBW account, which is for work and hiring, requires you to be at least 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

12Where information is processed

NiraMind is based in the United States, and we store and process information in the United States. If you use the Services from elsewhere, your information is transferred to the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those where you live.

13Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

14Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Services change. We’ll post the new version here with a new effective date and, for significant changes, tell you in the Services or by email before they take effect.
